The Guardian - Size 7
This listing is for a Crystal Quartz + Black Moonstone Copper Electroformed Ring.
I named this ring “The Guardian” because there are times when we need added visual presence as a reminder that we are protected + can make it through whatever storm may come. Black Moonstone has been said to enhance intuition + radiate protective energy. Crystal Quartz is known to bring balance to the mind and body. The double band is a visual representation of added support and love.
If you aren’t familiar with the electroforming process, let me introduce you to it!
The stones are hand picked by yours truly. Then, I clip a piece of copper wire and shape it to match the design. At that point, a special conductive paint is used. This is my most favorite part of the process because once I’ve painted the piece it goes into an electroforming liquid - called “a bath”. This part of the process also involves a copper anode and a rectifier. Your piece of jewelry is made little by little as the conductive paint pulls tiny pieces of copper from the anode and attaches to the paint. I no longer have control on how the piece processes, meaning the copper builds up on the piece completely on it’s own. Your piece will stay in the blue bath for anywhere between 17 to 24 hours. I check in on it periodically though to make sure everything is working appropriately but I absolutely love that I can’t control how it turns out. That being said, your piece is completely one of a kind and will never ever be able to be fully duplicated as an exact replica!
I love that this process uses copper because it is known as an energy conductor. When combined with the energy that crystals naturally provide, we have something that will create a smooth shift of energy your way.
If you are allergic to copper, this item is not for you. I do, however, seal the piece to try to cut down on skin irritation. Also, I do not recommend wearing these items in the bath or shower.
